Implementing M-Learning in Saudi English Language Classrooms

Nowadays there are many apps that supports English learning. After searching i found two useful apps one for beginners and the other one has all the levels a learner needs, he/she have to select the level then listen to the conversations.
English Conversation and English for Kids, the first one allows students to be put in real life situation and listen to real conversation, the second one is to teach young learners new vocabulary in a very simple and joyful way.
I would use it as a tool that helps students in real life conversations and how to get the correct pronunciation of the words, surly I will ask them to listen to it at home or anywhere they want and at the end of a lesson they will have to role pay the conversation they have been practicing and listening too. As for kid, the app has many sections for example: colors, fruits.. etc, I will ask them to memories five new words and draw a picture of it and bring it next class.

Mobile learning in Saudi Arabia

There are many benefits of using mobile devices, it connects students with the real world, give them the opportunity to be in charge of themselves, provides plenty of sources and let them search to find the most suitable answer for them. Also, M-learning helps students to build up their self-dependency. It’s true that students need mobile devices to keep up with the world’s latest updates yet learning process can be completed with and without mobile devices, so it won’t affect the students learning it will only add to their knowledge and learning.
There is a gap and it may pose a problem in the learning process because not all students have access to the internet or have their own device either for educational or social purposes and that will makes it even harder to use mobile learning while most of your students do not have a mobile device!!
Well we can convince the parents of the benefits and importance of using mobile learning, it will take long time for them to be convinced but I guess it worth it. Nowadays there are some parents who allow their kids to use mobile devices but it’s a small percentage and that’s what we have to work on. Giving students a home work that requires internet search to be solved is one of the most effective ways to make parents allow the use of mobile learning. I would like our kingdom to support mobile learning by involving it in the curriculum, once its added the whole kingdom will respond to it.

The role of WeQuests in learning a foreign/second language?

Webquests is a very useful learning method. The teacher set the task and how to go about it along with providing his/her students with the links that have the information ready for them to explore and apply it in their learning.
Students will be working in groups which are beneficial for the class environment; they will be working together and helping each others, which will build a strong relationship between them and makes the classroom environment friendly. Students will be responsible of themselves and have to work their task out without referring to the teacher they just have the wequest to help them do what they were asked to do.
Using webquest in learning/teaching process provides both cooperative and collaborative learning for students as mentioned above, group work is what it is about. In future I think I will use it for one time and see whether or not students will accept it.
Here in Saudi Arabia students do not have full access to the internet so it will be a problem for me if I use the webquest although it is very helpful and entertaining yet we can’t use it in all learning situations.

Website Evaluation

Link : https://flippa.com/

Flippa Website

Flippa is the number one marketplace for buying and selling websites. The roots of Flippa hark back to the original SitePoint Marketplace in 2005 (now SitePoint Market). While enterprising internet practitioners were listing all things Internet-related on the marketplace, the transaction volume of websites began to explode. Flippa was born when website listings were spun out of the marketplace in June 2009 to establish the world’s largest dedicated platform for buying and selling websites.
The way of contact is complicated. There email and phone number is not appealing to the eye. If the customer wants to buy something, first he should have an account and verify it, then contact the seller. Flippa is broker between the seller and the costumer. The products are presented by the webmaster to the costumers. All domains are published by the webmaster as a list they offer the opportunity to see the latest lists and the most active part on the website. Documents are presented in the order of the type, size and price in different web bars.
This web page works on simplifying the process of web marketing. All the details the customer needs are available as long as he registers to the web. The author does explain everything you need to know about. We didn’t find any advertisement or biased information. It was based on another website back to 2005 then they established their own listing website on June 2009 and the latest update was hours ago so it’s an updated website. We haven’t faced any dead links at all and it was all updated tell today’s date. All links are current and updated by the users & the webmaster. All information was original and new, also there are links to the latest apps and other products. Links are evaluated by people who surf internet websites, we also noticed a feedback from three costumers. Their layout is clear and the balance between images and texts is good. There is no such thing, everything is available to watch and observe you only have to register to buy or to sell the product and it won’t take more than 5 minutes to do so, and the products are well cited. It’s free to be obtained you only need an account in order to buy whatever you like.
There are also a suggested links to view the products in more detailed way. The website does not have any distracting ads or images. They use social media to separate their website all over the world and that made it a well know and successful website.

If you are interested in marketing and technology, you have to visit Flippa website and share with us your experience.

Morrison’s Interactive Language Learning

Saudi teachers need to create their own web-based language activities. Why? Why not?

Saudi teachers should create their own web-based language activities because no one know the level of the student as their teacher does. students can access any other web-based language activities yet it wont be made for their level of proficiency , it would help them to grow their knowledge yet not as much as they need. so Saudi teachers do need to create their own web-based language activities it will help them build up their technological knowledge along with building their students comprehension of the language.

Reading 4

"The Possibility of Reaching  Bax’s  Normalization in our Saudi context: Why is it possible ?When is it possible/reached/achieved?
 How will it be reached?

Normalization is the process of organizing information on the database and as bax’s defined is the stage when technology is invisible and can be developed by using it.

In Saudi Arabia there is a technological schools and classrooms yet the teachers do not know how to use it properly as they are a Digital Immigrants. Our students have the knowledge of how to use technology and know very well that the future depends on them but still no matter what happens with the teachers they are still under the required or needed ability of using technology that’s why they should make space for the new generation of teachers who had studied how to teach in using technology and can work it very well with the new generation of students. The government has already provide schools with all technological equipments and students are also ready to be taught by it yet we are waiting for the correct generation of teachers who will achieve what bax’s had talked about .
